Stuart Canterbury’s Novel ‘Shocking Pink’ Hits Streets

LOS ANGELESShocking Pink, the new novel from AVN Hall of Fame director Stuart Canterbury hits the bookstores on Monday May 8, 2023.  The work of fiction is a behind-the-scenes look at X-rated movie production, and is being released by publisher Running Wild Press.

Canterbury has been a player in the adult industry since the 1980s, with a string of awards and nominations, including an AVN Hall of Fame statue in 2017. He has shot for companies such as Penthouse, Hustler, Brazzers, Adam and Eve, Video Marc Dorcel, Arrow, and many others over his long career.

The novel is described as a comedy, following the day-to-day life of a fictional porn producer.

“So much of what is portrayed about the adult industry is either sensational or lurid,” Canterbury said. “But in my experience, most of it is hilarious.”

Jane Boon, author of Edgeplay, writes, “Through his fictional producer/director Travis Lazarus, ‘a decent man in an indecent business,’ Canterbury brings a sharp eye to the adult industry, bringing the reader into a world that is often maligned and misunderstood. The deals are explored with nuance, the characters are explored with warmth. If you’ve ever watched an X-rated film and wondered how it came together, Shocking Pink will turn you on.”

The novel is available at AmazonBarnes & Noble  and wherever books are sold.
